The pre-treatment of a fabric for digital printing means the application – generally by padding – of all the chemical substances that are absolutely necessary to properly anchor the dyestuff to the textile substrate, but which cannot be added to the ink formulation for technical reasons.

Just as for classic dyeing, in digital printing it is also possible to print each specific fibre by using well-defined dyestuffs so as to obtain high-resolution printouts fixed by intense and bright colours. Therefore, appropriate chemical auxiliaries must be assigned to every single binomial.
